Kristian Blummenfelt wins SUB7 in 6:44:25
Kristian Blummenfelt's reign over the triathlon world continued in Dresden, Germany, where he smashed the 7-hour barrier and won his match-up against Joe Skipper in a blazing fast 6:44:25.
Kristian split 48:21 in the swim, 3:24:22 on the bike, and 2:30:50 on the run.
In the past 12 months Kristian has won:
- Olympic Gold medal in Tokyo
- WTCS World Championship
- WTCS Grand Final in Edmonton
- IRONMAN Cozumel in a World Record time of 7:21:12
- IRONMAN World Championship in Saint George
- SUB7
SUB7 was an exhibition of human potential. Every athlete was allowed to have up to 10 pacers that they could deploy across the swim, bike, and run as they wished. Kristian used 1 swim pacer (deboer athlete, Lars Bottelier), 8 bike pacers, and 1 run pacer.
Kristian swam in a special prototype deboer Fjord S7 wetsuit for the race. We were very excited to work alongside Kristian and his team to produce a wetsuit that would help him have the fastest swim split of the day. We will be incorporating what we learned working with both Kristian's team, and Nicola Spirig's team (Nicola wore a prototype Fjord S8 wetsuit) to produce our next generation of Fjord wetsuit.
