Gustav Iden wins the inaugural PTO Canadian Open!

Gustav Iden continued his reign of dominance over the middle distance by taking the title at the Professional Triathletes Organization Canadian Open!

Iden put together a 26:24 swim, 1:44:14 bike, and 58:37 run to take the title in 3:10:48 over fellow deboer ProAm team member, and compatriot, Kristian Blummenfelt.

The race was not without drama.  Iden and Blummenfelt were running together early in the second lap of the run when Blummenfelt was stopped dead in his tracks with a cramp.  It took over a minute for Blummenfelt to work through his cramp before embarking on his chase after Iden.  Blummenfelt clawed back time, but finished 0:27 back in 3:11:15.

Filipe Azevedo finished in 15th (3:18:37), Kyle Buckingham was 23rd (3:23:10), and Ben Kanute was 28th (3:26:46).

In the women's race Nicola Spirig finished 10th (3:39:50), Skye Moench was 14th (3:40:30), Laura Siddall was 23rd (3:49:05), Sara Perez Sala was 26th (3:51:34), Lauren Brandon was 27th (3:52:22), and Jeanni Metzler was 29th (3:54:15).
