In 2018 Matt Russell had one of the most incredible comebacks in sports history. On October 14, 2017 Russell lay in a hospital bed with life threatening injuries after a devastating bike crash at the Ironman World Championship. 364 days later he returned to the Big Island of Hawaii for the 2018 Ironman World Championship and finished in an incredible 6th place.
Perseverance has been a staple of Russell’s career. He is an Ironman Champion (Canada 2012), 2-time Ironman 70.3 Champion (Raleigh 2016, Chattanooga 2017), and has 15 Ironman and Ironman 70.3 podiums to his name. Every time Russell crosses the finish line he does a Blazeman Roll in honor of his Mom who suffered from ALS.
We are proud to join Matt as he continues to challenge for Ironman titles, and a spot on the Ironman World Championship podium.
