deboer wetsuits is very excited to announce a partnership with Lars Bottelier. Bottelier is an elite long distance open water swimmer with an aim of qualifying for the 10k Open Water Swim at the 2024 Olympics in Paris, France. Bottelier came to open water swimming when his water polo team encouraged its athletes to join a local swim club. Bottelier found a passion in the open water, and has been pursuing it ever since. deboer is proud that Bottelier has chosen to swim in the deboer Fjord 1.0, Flōh 1.0, and Ocean 1.0 wetsuits.

 Lars Bottelier

“deboer wetsuits provides the best wetsuits in the world, but they don’t settle, they aim to continue to push the boundaries of innovation. To reach that goal deboer continually experiments, tests, and improves their products using the most innovative techniques and the finest designs. As an athlete I want to be the best I can be and I feel like I follow a similar process. Everyday I try to improve my swimming technique, my conditioning, and race strategy. I believe deboer fits perfectly in my journey to become one of the best open water swimmers in the world.”

Alex de Boer, co-founder of deboer wetsuits

“We are thrilled to welcome Lars Bottelier to the deboer team. As a company with Dutch roots, it is great to be able to support a Dutch athlete who so closely aligns with the values of deboer. We aim to make deboer better every day – we refine our designs, we test new materials, and we look at make the fastest wetsuits even faster. Lars is an athlete on an impressive trajectory. Coming off his win at the 2020 Rottnest Channel Swim, many athletes would feel like they had ‘made it’ and settle on their routines and processes. Not Lars, he has continued to seek out ways to continue to go farther and faster.”
