Simone Mitchell, 2019 Ironman Wales Champion, joins the deboer team
deboer wetsuits is proud to partner with Ironman Champion, Simone Mitchell. In September 2019 Mitchell raced her first professional triathlon – Ironman Wales, where she took the title, broke the course record, and punched her ticket to Kona in 2020. Prior to her impressive professional debut, Mitchell raced as an amateur racking up a number of accomplishments including a 2017 Ironman 70.3 F25-29 World Championship title, finishing 2nd overall and 1st amateur at 2018 Ironman Lanzarote, and setting a course record at the 2018 Outlaw Triathlon in 9:15:44. We are thrilled that Mitchell has chosen to swim in the Fjord 1.0 and Flōh 1.0 wetsuits, and Tsunami 1.0 speedsuit in 2020.

“I think the deboer wetsuit is very different from every other wetsuit. The arms are super flexible and there’s incredible buoyance through the entire torso. I don’t kick, so I rely on my arms and this suit allows me to really use my arms like no other wetsuit.”
Alex de Boer, co-founder of deboer wetsuits
“As an amateur Simone has been breathing down the necks of many of the top professional females for a couple years, so it was great to see Simone have such an incredible debut, winning on an iconic course at Ironman Wales. We are very excited to support Simone in her first full season as a professional, and we feel Simone Mitchell is a name triathletes will become a lot more familiar with in 2020.”
We are proud to work with Simone Mitchell as she continues to challenge for titles, and lines up for the first time as a professional on the Ironman World Championship start line in 2020.
